WASHINGTON – As the United
States increases its military presence in the Middle East again, New York’s
Senior Senator is opposed to that.

Senator Charles Schumer said Wednesday he believes we should concentrate
on protecting our homeland.

“I have always felt we should not have boots on the ground in Iraq
and Syria, that we should protect our homeland with three methods –
reconnaissance, intelligence and drones to take out the leaders of ISIS
and keep them off balance,” he said. “They say that is a very
limited number of people who are intelligence agents, not boots on the
ground.”

Schumer’s comments come on a day when there are reports that ISIS
beheaded a Russian man, who the terrorist group charged was a spy.
