TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE –
A 48-year-old man was struck and killed as he walked along Spackenkill
Road near Millbank Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie Saturday night.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Randall
Housey, 48, who was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital where he
was pronounced dead following the 9 p.m. accident.
Authorities said a vehicle driven by Valentine Condon, 76, of Wappinger,
struck Housey. She initially left the scene, apparently unaware that she
had struck the victim; however, was located and identified a short time
later by deputies and is cooperating with the investigation.
The exact circumstances and causes of the crash remain under investigation
by the sheriff’s office Detective Bureau and Crash Investigation
Unit.
At this time, authorities said, no charges have been filed.
