KIRYAS JOEL – Officials
of the Village of Kiryas Joel Friday thanks the law enforcement community
for the quick arrest of a suspect in the shooting of one of their residents.

“The New York State Police, Village of Harriman Police Department
and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office all worked together
on this speedy and thorough investigation which led to an arrest, and
which has made the streets safer for all the residents of Orange County,”
said village Government Relations Coordinator Ari Felberman.

Police arrested Matthew Bauman, 25, of Harriman for allegedly shooting
a 18-year-old Kiryas Joel resident, Aron Weiss, in the upper shoulder
as the victim attempted to flee from a robbery attempt on Tuesday evening.
