WHITE PLAINS – A 27-year-old Yonkers man, who has been charged
with killing another man in August, has been arraigned on three counts
of murder, two counties of robbery and five counts of criminal possession
of a weapon.

Westchester District Attorney Janet DiFiore said Joaquin Recinos Garcia
and another man picked up the victim, Luis Blanco, 62, of Yonkers on August
19 in the City of Yonkers. Garcia told Blanco he could not pay money he
owned him. When Blanco threatened to inform Garcia’s employer, Garcia
became angry, brandishes screwdriver and demanded Garcia hand over all
his valuables.

Garcia then proceeded to stab the victim several times. The other man
in the back seat of the SUV then shot Blanco once in the back of the head
and his body was dumped alongside the road. A jogger found it days later.

Garcia was arrested on September 18 and remanded to the Westchester county
Jail without bail.

If convicted, he could face 25 years to life in prison without parole.
