Man accused of stealing bike outside Kingston City Court

KINGSTON – A Kingston man is charged with stealing a bicycle left by its owner in a bike rack while in Kingston City Court right next door to the police station.
A review of surveillance video showed that Joseph Candelario, 30, of Elmendorf Street allegedly took the bike. He had been in court to answer a bench warrant for a violation of city code for harboring a dangerous dog.
Officers checked the area around city court and found Candelario with the bike in the area of Albany Avenue. He was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
