Halloween crackdown nets 24 arrests in Dutchess County

POUGHKEEPSIE – Several police agencies in Dutchess County participated in a Halloween crackdown from October 30 through November 1 conducting driving details consisting of saturation patrols and a sobriety checkpoint. The arrests included 15 for impaired driving and nine other arrests.
Participating in the crackdown were Dutchess County sheriff’s Office, State Police, town police in Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park and East Fishkill, City of Poughkeepsie, and villages of Millerton, Wappingers Falls, and Red Hook.
The crackdown patrols were funding through the state. The objective of the continued enforcement was to revitalize and enhance the visibility of the STOP-DWI Program through coordinated multi-agency impaired driving enforcement details targeting identified statewide crackdown periods.
