BLOOMING GROVE – Two Southern Tier residents are under arrest in Orange County, charged with possession of drugs and counterfeit cash.  State Police stopped their vehicle on Route 17 in Blooming Grove on Thursday, October 29.
Arrested were Kenneth Jenkins, 28, of Binghamton, and Lakia Leonard, 26, of Endwell.
Jenkins was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument for possessing counterfeit $100 and $50 bills. He was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Leonard was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument for the counterfeit money and three counts of criminal possession of drugs – crack cocaine and MDMA, as well as misdemeanor possession of drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana and tampering with physical evidence for trying to dispose of the drugs.
Both are in the Orange County Jail.   Jenkins is held without bail. Leonard is held in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
