POUGHKEEPSIE – A Liberty man who is on parole is charged in the stabbing of a Poughkeepsie man in that city.
Poughkeepsie Police were called to 135 Mill Street shortly after 3 a.m. on Wednesday where they found the victim outside suffering from several stab wounds to his left side.
The victim had been attempting to break up a fight when he was stabbed by Quentin Branch, 24, a parolee who was staying in Poughkeepsie, police said. After the stabbing, Branch fled back to his home in Liberty.
On Thursday, the State Police Violent Felony Warrant Squad and the State Parole arrested Branch at his home in Liberty.  He is being held on a charge of felony assault and is also on a parole hold for violating his parole.
