POUGHKEEPSIE – Orange is not the only Mid-Hudson county that is reaching out to Legoland in an effort to persuade them to develop a theme park to the region.
Dutchess County is also pitching the project after the Town of Haverstraw, in Rockland County, which was the company’s choice, decided not to continue negotiations.
Dutchess Executive Marcus Molinaro said the county has a number of possible locations for the facility.
“Dutchess County has offered up several possible locations for the siting of Legoland. We understand they are looking to, perhaps stay in the region, but not continue at their Rockland location,” he said. Molinaro said the county has submitted sites for consideration and is participating in the effort to recruit them.
Legoland may not have a Mid-Hudson home at this time, but the project is on the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Council’s list of those seeking to receive state funding.
