POUGHKEEPSIE – A suspect, whose photo was on the State Police Facebook page, was arrested in Poughkeepsie after he was recognized by someone.
Michael Spiak, 25, of Poughkeepsie was charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor criminal possession of stolen property. He had been wanted following his August arrest for allegedly burglarizing a Town of LaGrange auto body shop. When he failed to appear in town court, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On October 14, he was spotted in Poughkeepsie when a retired trooper was driving on Academy Street and his passenger recognized him. He was taken into custody without incident and turned over to troopers.
Spiak was sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
