YONKERS – Yonkers City Court Judge Robert Cerrato resigned after being served with formal disciplinary charges. The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct said Cerrato agreed not to seek or accept judicial office in the future.
Cerrato was served with a formal written compliance dated February 20, which alleged that he invoked his judicial title on several occasions when he called third parties on behalf of his daughter and he charged $200 fees to officiate at weddings despite the $100 limit authorized by law.
“The public interest has been served by the result of this judicial matter and the open manner in which it was resolved,” said commission Administrator Robert Tembeckjian.
