Brown: “… running for
the future”

POUGHKEEPSIE – House of Representatives elections over a year away, but Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (D, NY18) already has an opponent.
Sakima Brown, a Republican from Poughkeepsie, ran unsuccessfully for state Assembly last year against Democrat Frank Skartados of Milton.
She wants to run for Congress now to protect the future generations.
“Some of the choices that Maloney has made puts our future in jeopardy like the Iran bill that he voted for, which I am against because I would never want to see American dollars go towards what I believe would end up being terrorism,” Brown said. “I definitely feel that I am running for the future. I am running for the safety of our kids and be the voice that this district needs.”
Brown, who is a U.S. Military Academy graduate and a veteran of the Iraqi war, said she will conduct a grassroots campaign.
