POUGHKEEPSIE – The home visit of a parolee resulted in his arrest on drug charges.
Authorities from the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision and Poughkeepsie City Police conducted the check on John Cummings, 48, of 178B North Clinton Street and seized 129 bags of heroin, 26 bags of marijuana, crack cocaine and $4,510 in cash. Cummings was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance as a felony as well as criminal possession of a controlled substance and marijuana as misdemeanors.
Residents with information about drug dealing or suspicious activity in their neighborhood are asked to call the Poughkeepsie City Police Department Neighborhood Recovery Unit at 845-451-4060.
