TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Police believe they have solved the case
of a September 18 rape of a female Dutchess Community College student
with the arrests of three men.
The 19-year-old victim reported the sexual assault later that evening
and it was determined it occurred at an off-campus residence on Fairview
Avenue in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
An investigation revealed she had been sexually assaulted by three men,
all of whom have been identified and arrested by Poughkeepsie Town Police.
Tyler Bryant, 20, of Yonkers and Rene Hernandez, 33, of the Bronx were
each charged with first-degree rape as a felony.
Joel Abelardo Herrera, 20, of Yonkers, was charged with criminal sexual
act in the first degree as a felony.
All three men were arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail
in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond each.
