NEWBURGH – Police and fire officials Tuesday investigated a bomb scare in the Maple Building at the foot of Broadway in Newburgh. The building houses Social Security offices and other tenants.
The tower building and Kaplan Hall, both part of the SUNY Orange Newburgh campus nearby, were not affected although pedestrian traffic along the campus plaza was prohibited and people leaving the buildings were rerouted.
Authorities conducted a search and found no signs of a threat.
