MONTICELLO – A Loch Sheldrake man has been sentenced to 32 years to life in state prison for his repeated sexual assaults on a child when she was age 10 through 14. The crimes occurred in the Village of Monticello.
On May 21, Tyrome Chaneyfield, 49, was found guilty by a jury of predatory sexual assault against a child and 22 counts of rape, all as felonies.
Sullivan County Court Judge Frank LaBuda sentenced Chaneyfield to the maximum sentence under the law of 25 years to life in prison on his conviction for predatory sexual assault against a child and concurrent terms of seven years in prison to be followed by 10 years of post-release supervision for each of his rape convictions.  Those sentences were ordered to run consecutively to the sentence imposed for the predatory sexual assault, for the total of 32 years to life.
Chaneyfield will also have to register as a sex offender if he is ever released from prison.
The sexual assaults on the girl created “scars that will last her whole life,” said District Attorney James Farrell. “Chaneyfield deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison.”
