PINE BUSH – Eric Meier was eulogized on Tuesday as a loving husband, father and member of the Crawford community.
The 51-year-old Crawford Police sergeant suffered a fatal heart attack while on the job last Thursday, September 17.
Hundreds of police officers, firefighters, public officials and local
residents paid their respects to the man who gave his all to the community
he loved.
Meier was also a member of the Pine Bush School Board.
Orange County Sheriff Carl DuBois noted Meier was very active in the community.
“He had a really nice program for kids that were going into the service after they graduated,” DuBois said.  “He had a little barbeque for them during the summer for kids from Pine Bush School District and from other districts. He was a pretty community-minded guy.”
Following funeral services, Meier was laid to rest in New Prospect Cemetery.
