More charges lodged against man dragging steel tank in truck

Furman (inset) now charged with stealing the tank that was more than his pickup could handle

MONTICELLO – The man who was arrested on Friday, September 4 on a charge of driving while ability impaired after he was stopped dragging a 15-foot-long steel tank out of the back of his pickup truck, has had additional charges lodged against him.
Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies investigated and determined the tank had been stolen from the Concord Hotel property off Thompsonville Road near Monticello.
Douglas Furman, 33, of Glen Wild, was charged on Sunday with felony grand larceny and misdemeanor criminal trespass.  He was sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail pending a future court appearance.
