RHINEBECK – An early morning head-on collision on Route 9 just north of Stone Church Road in Rhinebeck on Sunday claimed the life of one person. There were no other injuries in the 3:30 a.m. crash. The names of those involved were not released on Sunday.
The impact of the crash resulted in the two vehicles coming to rest some 125 feet apart.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. Also assisting at the scene were the Rhinebeck Fire Department, Red Hook Fire Police, Northern Dutchess Ambulance and State Police.
Rt. 9 from Rt. 9G to Rokeby Road in Red Hook was closed for almost seven hours, until 10 a.m.
