NEW YORK – Some 300 motorcyclists
participated in the third annual memorial ride to honor the first responders
who died in the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001.

The bikers left Albany Friday morning, passed through the Mid-Hudson Valley
on the Thruway and ended their ride at the 9/11 Memorial in Manhattan.
State Veterans Affairs Director Eric Hesse the ride was prompted by the
governor.

“We are doing it on behalf of all of our great first responders
across New York State, especially those who sacrificed 14 years ago on
9/11,” he said.
When the event began three years ago, just a handful of bikers participated.
