BEDFORD – A male corrections officer at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for woman has been arrested on a charge that he had sex with a female inmate.
State Police at the Somers barracks arrested Ruben Garcia, 38, of Yonkers
on Thursday and charged him with felony rape since by law, prisoners may
not engage in sexual activity with employees.
The alleged encounter at the prison occurred in February and investigated by the State Police and the State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision’s Office of Special Investigations.
Garcia was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance next month.
