CANAAN – Four boys, two age 14 and two age 15, were arrested and charged in connection with two incidents after they were reported missing from the Berkshire Farm Center for troubled youths last weekend.
On Saturday night, a man told State Police he heard glass break outside his home. When he went outside to investigate, three teens assaulted him. They fled on foot after they damaged a vehicle by smashing the rear passenger window and burglarizing a neighboring cabin.
Hours later on Sunday morning, a Canaan man told police that he heard a knock at his door and when he opened it, he was struck in the face by a teen. Two youths entered and stole cash before fleeing.
Later on Sunday, police arrested the four youths and charged them with two counts of felony burglary and one count of misdemeanor assault.  The investigation revealed that one of the teens was present during both incidents.
