NEW CITY – Rockland County Legislator Richard Diaz and state Assemblyman Kenneth Zebrowski want the state Department of Transportation to do something about the volume and speed of traffic on Route 303 in front of Valley Cottage Library.
The traffic on the road makes it difficult and sometimes very dangerous for library patrons to turn into or out of the library parking lot.
“We’re working together to identify possible solutions,” said Diaz. “We want residents to not only feel safe, but to actually be safe when they are trying to get to and from the library.”
Since Route 303 is a state road, Zebrowski said he will contact the DOT requesting a full study of the entrance way.
“This will help us determine what steps we might be able to take,” he said.
