Crew installs first new banner

POUGHKEEPSIE – Fifteen new street pole banners that stretch six feet tall will grace poles on Poughkeepsie’s Middle Main Street as part of the initiative in that area.
The first banner was erected at the corner of Main and North Cherry streets on Tuesday.
The pole banners build on the initiative’s Vacant to Vibrant campaign,
said Emma Flynn, neighborhood marketer for the Ameri-Vista Middle Main
Initiative of Hudson River Housing.
“It is one of our strategies to highlight the businesses that exist in the neighborhood and also create a more vibrant feeling in that area,” Flynn said.
All 15 banners, to be placed on street poles, are sponsored by local businesses and organizations and are aimed at building community pride and sense of place.
