KINGSTON – Ulster County District Attorney Holley Carnright will
be looking into allegations against Orange County Republican operative
Carmen Dubaldi of New Windsor, MidHudsonNews.com has learned.

No one, including Carnright, will discuss details of those, which several
sources say dealt with discrepancies in elected officials’ campaign
funds.

Carnright was assigned to examine the case.

“The investigation originated in Orange County and the Orange County
District Attorney made an application to the court to disqualify their
office because of a potential conflict of interest and my office was then
assigned,” Carnright said. “We have had the assignment for
a couple of weeks now but I haven’t looked into the file in much
detail yet, but I can confirm that we have been assigned the investigation.”
Dubaldi is an Orange County Government employee, has served as New Windsor
Town Republican Committee chairman and was also involved in the financial
side of a number of political campaigns.
