Teens charged with torturing, killing goose

HIGHLAND – Two teenagers have been arrested on animal cruelty charges for allegedly torturing and killing a wild goose.
Michael Vargas, 18, and Jarrett Gonzalez, 16, both of Highland, allegedly committed the violent act behind a business on Route 299 in Highland. They were arrested on July 25.  Both were charged with animal cruelty under state Agriculture and Markets law and were released on appearance tickets returnable to Lloyd Town Court.
Lloyd Police were assisted by the state Department of Environmental Conservation Police.
