POUGHKEEPSIE – Authorities are working
to identify the skeletal remains of a man found along the shoreline of
the Hudson River south of Prospect Street in the City of Poughkeepsie.

A boater on the Hudson River spotted the remains on July 19.

They were identified by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office
as human and there appears to be no sign of any traumatic cause of death,
police said.

Det. Sgt. John Zeltmann said they are checking all missing person’s
reports in the city as well as other areas in an effort to determine the
identity of the person.

He said it could not be determined exactly how long the person was there.
