MONTICELLO – State Police arrested a Brooklyn man for illegal possession of a weapon after he was stopped in Monticello driving 75 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone.
Police found that Anchy Walter had a suspended driver’s license and further investigation turned up a Beretta handgun. He was immediately arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle as well as other traffic violations.
Walter is due back in village court at a later date.
