MIDDLETOWN – The Mental Health Association of Orange County is going to receive $61,000 in state funds for rape crisis services. The money was secured by Senator John Bonacic (R, Mt. Hope).
“These are critical funds that will go a long way toward helping the Mental Health Association provide services and education,” said Bonacic. “By providing these resources in Orange County, we can take a step toward one day ending sexual violence, while at the same time empowering victims to seek help with they are attacked.”
Mental Health Association Executive Director Nadia Allen said the funding will allow the agency to continue to provide “vital community crisis response and prevention capacity to address sexual assault.”
The association’s 24-hour crisis intervention and referral line is 800-832-1200.
