POUGHKEEPSIE – Police Monday identified
the man who was shot in the head last Tuesday, June 30 and later died
as Shameik Floyd, 21, of Poughkeepsie.
Floyd died of a single gunshot wound to the head, police said following
an autopsy.
Floyd was found lying in the road near 200 Mansion Street. He was transported
to a local hospital for treatment of his wound, which later proved to
be fatal.
Police have added more patrols in the area in the wake of recent shootings.
No arrests have been made in this later homicide.
