SMALLWOOD – Two Smallwood women, who were the caretakers for a two-year-old girl, were arrested on Friday and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
State troopers patrolling the Smallwood area of the Town of Bethel came upon a two-year-old girl wandering outside naked and crying.
An investigation revealed that Jesse Krebs, 25, and Nicole Hughes, 28, both of Smallwood, were the caretakers for the toddler and were arrested for their lack of supervision.  Krebs and Hughes were released on appearance tickets returnable in Bethel Town Court.
The child was examined by EMS and determined to be in good health. She was turned over to family members.
