Community groups receive fresh fruits and vegetables for Kingston residents

KINGSTON – Ulster County Community Action and People’s Place are recipients of food deliveries in Kingston on a weekly basis through a grant from the New World Foundation’s Local Economies Project, made possible by the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley.
The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley provides weekly deliveries of fresh fruits and vegetables to the Food Bank Farm Stand at People’s Place on Tuesdays at 17 James Street from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Fridays at Ulster County Community Action at 70 Lindsley Avenue from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Customers are suggested to bring their own bags.
Ulster County Community Action executive Director Robert Lamoree arranged shuttle service for up to 10 people per trip to People’s Place on Tuesdays from Yosman Towers, Governor Clinton, Brigham and Springbrook Village senior complexes; Chambers, Wiltwyck, Gardens, Stuyvesant and Colonial Gardens on Wednesdays and on Fridays transportation will be provided to Ulster County Community Action from Yosman Towers, Governor Clinton, Brigham, Chambers, Wiltwyck, Stuyvesant Charters, Colonial Gardens and Springbrook Village.
