NEW WINDSOR – The Orange County Industrial Development Agency had given the Warwick Yard sports complex developer documents for it to be eligible for a sales tax exemption on building materials for its new facility in the Town of Warwick.
In return, the company owes the IDA $12,750. It has not paid that bill and IDA Associate Executive Director Laurie Villasuso said the agency Thursday took action.
“Basically the issue is they didn’t pay us for the documents so the board took action and authorized the attorney to send them a certified letter with a formal demand of the return of the documents or the payment of the fee,” Villasuso said.
The company, which also owns a similar center in Chester, was also going to seek a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement in the future.
