Ulster home sales continue upward trend

KINGSTON – Sales of single-family houses in Ulster County in May rose over the same month last year, according to the Ulster County Board of Realtors.
In May, 110 homes sold, compared with 103 during the same month last
year.  Year-to-date, home sales were at 453 compared with 416 during
the same period in 2014.
The average price of a house declined in 2015 versus last year. In May, the average price was $254,692 compared to $282,384 one year earlier.  During the first five months of the year, the average selling price of a home in 2014 was $240,775 compared to $224,310 this year.
Homes were on the market for an average of 152 days in May, compared with 165 days in May 2014.
