ELENVILLE – The Joseph Y. Resnick
Airport in the Ellenville/Wawarsing area will receive $1.2 million from
the US Department of Transportation for airport upgrades including runway
renovations and repairing lighting systems.

The grant will fund milling and repairs to the 3,838 foot long Runway
4/22 for structural integrity and minimizing debris from foreign objects.
The lighting system for the runway will also be upgraded to enhance safe
airfield operations during low visibility conditions.

The funding is part of the Airport Improvement Program administered by
the FAA.

Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced the funding.
