TOWN OF NEWBURGH – Stewart Airport will play host to an air show in late August that is expected to attract tens of thousands of people.  The show, on August 29 and 30, was originally planned for Coney Island in Brooklyn, but was moved to Newburgh.
The show is expected to include military and civilian aircraft. The US Air Force F-22A Raptor is among those planes to be at Stewart.
Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus is involved in the planning.
“Right now we are putting together the final touches on an event that I believe will have a major regional impact and something that we can all gather around and be proud of,” Neuhaus said.
A Port Authority spokeswoman said details of the weekend are being finalized.
