MOUNT VERNON – A Mount Vernon man is in the hospital in critical but stable condition following surgery for gunshot wounds.
The 28-year-old victim was shot inside the Top Deli on East 3rd Street on Monday afternoon. He was hit several times in the arms and abdomen by an unknown assailant, who fled the scene on foot.
