GOSHEN – Local property owners should watch for a misleading notice, Orange County Clerk Annie Rabbitt said Thursday.
The notice looks like an invoice for $83 and states the company involved will provide evidence that the property was transferred to the homeowner’s name.
Rabbitt said property owners can obtain a certified copy of their deed from her office for approximately $5. They do not need to respond to the notice they receive in the mail from a private company.
