ORANGEBURG – National data center developer 1547 Critical Systems Reality has opened its new 232,000 square foot facility in Orangeburg.
Local officials, business executives and technology professionals attended a ribbon cutting in Tuesday.
Center Director Anthony Patton said the operation is a commercial cloud.
“Whenever you are watching Netflix or something is spooling or a text is coming through your phone, chances are it is right through a facility like ours before it reaches your device,” Patton said.  “It is where a lot of data can be stored and processing can go on for just about everything we use today.”
At present the facility has three tenants.  Patton anticipates filling it up in a year to 18 months at which time the company will consider building a mirror image facility on the 30 acres they own.
