One fatality as house damaged by fire in Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE – Fire Monday morning
caused considerable damage to a house on Church Street near the intersection
of Cherry Street in Poughkeepsie. One person died as a result.

A number of area fire departments were called in to assist in extinguishing
the blaze. One person was removed and taken to the hospital with smoke
inhalation.

The Dutchess County Arson Squad was called in to investigate with a K-9
unit.
