A place to play for Newburgh children

NEWBURGH – The Tyrone Crabb Park in Newburgh was opened Friday following a ceremony dedicating the playground to the man who was a public servant in the city.
The event was attended by residents, city officials and family members.
Crabb, who served as a city councilman, was elected as mayor in November 1999, died of a massive heart attack just a couple of weeks before as he was planning an inaugural party.
The city council later would name his widow, Mary, to serve as mayor until a special election was held the following fall.
The Tyrone Crabb Park is at the corner of South and Grand streets.
