WASHINGTON – A bill designed to protect
the Delaware River watershed and strengthen the region’s outdoor
economy, has been introduced by Congressman Christopher Gibson (R, NY-19).

The bill would create a Delaware River Basin Restoration Program in the
Fish and Wildlife Service, said Gibson.

“We are talking about the basin impacts, not only in New York, but
also Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and parts of Maryland. This is
important that we get the water management and conservation programs right
because a lot is at stake here – habitat, water quality, flood damage
reduction, all of this in play and this bill helps on that score,”
he said.
Gibson has introduced the legislation with Congressman John Carney of
Delaware and 14 original co-sponsors from New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
