KINGSTON – A Highland woman was arrested on Thursday by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of being a fugitive from justice from Charlotte County, Florida.
At about 5 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 32 in the Town of Ulster driven by Janet Olson, 64, of Highland. She had an active warrant for violation of probation stemming from a resisting arrest charge.
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office in Florida was contacted and confirmed they wished to pursue extradition. Olson was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail pending extradition proceedings in Ulster County Court.
