Man accused of trying to bribe deputy

TOWN OF WALLKILL – A Middletown is charged with bribery after he allegedly offered an Orange County Sheriff’s deputy cash in exchange for now towing his vehicle after his arrest.
On March 31 at around 8:30 p.m., Michael Baer was arrested by sheriff’s deputies for driving with a suspended license after he had left his vehicle unattended in the fire lane in front of Frank’s Pizza on Route 211 East in the Town of Wallkill.
While in custody, he offered a deputy money in exchange for not towing his vehicle from the scene.
Baer was charged with felony bribery for offering a bribe to a public servant, as well as aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving an unattended motor vehicle.  He is in the Orange County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash or bail.
