LIBERTY – Police in the Village of Liberty arrested a fourth man wanted in connection with a string of car larcenies that occurred in January 2014. The vehicles, all unlocked, had been rummaged through, some with items stolen, in the areas of Barton Road, Liberty Commons and Carrier Street.
That month police arrested three men and had been looking for a fourth.
On March 18 of this year, village police arrested Donovan Price, 21, of Liberty on an active parole warrant and an active bench warrant from Town of Liberty Court on an unrelated case.  He was later charged with seven counts of petit larceny and five counts of attempted petit larceny in connection with the 2014 investigation.
While taking Price into custody on the warrants, police located 116 glassine envelopes of heroin, 1,000 empty glassine envelopes, a digital scale and a small quantity of cocaine in his room.
Also arrested as a result of the investigation were Mathew Miller, 20, of Liberty, who was charged with misdemeanor drug possession, and Laron Dinkins, 21, of Liberty, who was charged with felony and misdemeanor charges of drug possession, and criminally using drug paraphernalia.
Dinkins and Price were sent to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.  Miller was released on an appearance ticket.
