WHITE PLAINS – A Mount Vernon man pled guilty in Westchester County Court on Wednesday to attempted aggravated assault on a police officer as a felony for running down a detective with his vehicle.
At 7:15 a.m. on June 6, 2014, Leroi Bouche, 28, was ordered to stop while in a Mount Vernon parking lot, but instead, accelerated and struck a Yonkers detective, seriously injuring him.
The officer was part of the Westchester District Attorney’s Narcotics Initiative. He was struck even though he was in uniform and ordered Bouche to stop.
Bouche fled on foot but was located and arrested on June 12, 2014 in the Bronx.
When sentenced in May, he faces up to 15 years in state prison.
