NEWBURGH – A 17-year-old Newburgh resident is under arrest after police in the city observed him conducting a drug sale in the area of 140 South Street. Newburgh officers recovered a plastic bag containing 154 decks of heroin from his jacket pocket and $1,195 in suspected drug proceeds from his pants pocket.
The drugs had an approximate street value of $1,540.
The youth, whose name police did not release, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance as felonies.
