NEW WINDSOR – Police are looking for two men who robbed an employee of the Foam and Wash Car Wash in Vails Gate Saturday night.
The manager told New Windsor Police that after closing, he was leaving with the night deposit money when he was approached by two men who demanded the cash. They forced him to lie on the ground and stole the night deposit with an undisclosed amount of cash, his cell phone and wallet. They fled toward Route 94 near Knox Village apartments.
Town and State Police checked the area but could not locate the suspects, who were described as being black men dressed in dark clothing. One brandished a gun.
Investigators believe there could be a connection to a night deposit robbery that occurred at the Kay Bank branch in New Windsor in December 2014.
Business owners are asked to use diligence when handling large amounts of money to be deposited.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 845-565-7000.
