BLOOMING GROVE – Former Blooming Grove Town Board Member Kathy Wells Calhoun announced her candidacy for town supervisor. She is a Republican and will likely face fellow Republican Brandon Nielsen, a current board member, in a GOP primary in September.
Wells Calhoun said if elected, she will work “diligently and honestly toward financial accountability, responsible planning for infrastructure and growth, open and transparent communication with all residents, as well as promoting a good faith communication and interaction between the Town of Blooming Grove and the village governments of Washingtonville and South Blooming Grove and their elected officials.”
The Democratic Party race for town supervisor may also not be clear cut. Incumbent Robert Fromaget is a Democrat and former town supervisor Lawrence Delarose, also a Democrat, is expected to announce he will run for the town’s top job.
