WHITE PLAINS – A Mount Vernon man pled guilty in Westchester County Court on Thursday to murder in the death of an elderly local woman.
Lloyd Lewis, 33, also known as “Blue,” admitted to killing Emma Gruber, 85, in her home on February 10, 2014.
When her worried grandson went to her home, her body was found at the bottom of basement stairs under a large pile of clothes and a piece of plywood. A nearby two by four piece of wood had the victim’s blood on it.  The basement had a small flood because the water meter and copper pipes had been cut out and removed. Also missing from her home was a 32 inch flat screen TV.
Gruber’s death was ruled a homicide by blunt force trauma.
Lewis was arrested on March 3, 2014 and charged with burglarizing a detached garage of a nearby abandoned home and further investigation led to his arrest for the murder.  When sentenced in May, he faces 25 years to life in prison.
